About
I’m Max Lin, a full-stack engineer by trade and now an independent developer.
What I make is small on purpose: each app does one thing. On the App Store: Xiaodou Ledger and Swipe Photos. On the Mac: the Lumo translator, the Kay voice input, and a few other tools, most of them open source.
Nearly all of it is written together with AI agents. What I care about most is not getting agents to write more code, but making their “done” trustworthy: every check has to prove it can actually catch a failure, and every incident changes the structure rather than adding another rule. The skills that came out of this are public on GitHub.
Here I write up how each thing was made: why it was built this way, what went wrong, and how it turned out.
Working together
- AI workflows that hold up
- Hand the repetitive, babysat parts of a team’s work to agents: map the process, write the skills and tools, define how results get checked, and stay until it runs reliably on real work.
- Advising
- Bringing AI coding into a team’s daily development: choosing tools, setting rules and checks, and making an agent’s “done” something you can trust.
- App consulting
- Taking an independent app from idea to App Store: technical choices, App Review, China ICP filing, pricing and release process.
